Creating a "Yes, And..."

Culture in the Drama Classroom 

When: July 22    8:30-11:30AM

Where: Ovations Plus/Trike Theatre

Improv strategies strengthen students’ communication skills and reinforces a creatively safe and supportive classroom community where teachers build trust with their students. Participants will leave with practical applications for their classroom. CR2.2, CN.10

Appropriate for 6-12 Theatre teachers. 

Basic Sound for the Theatre 

When: June 18   9:00am-4:00pm

Where: Russellville Center for the Arts

Presenter: Daniel Stahl

Goal: Gain hands on experience with a digital soundboard. Familiarize users with every facet of sound (board, speakers, patching, XLR, wireless frequencies, and basic programming). Users will also gain hands on EQ practice and how to balance sound.

3-D Storytelling-

The Three Citters Gruff

Looking for a fun way to engage young readers, strengthen classroom culture and build theatre skills? Story Boxes are well known folk and fairy tales that have been adapted for storytelling and integrate literacy and life/professional skills. Workshop participants learn how to make stories come alive using tiny toys and props and leave with a box of their own. CR1.1, CR2.1

Appropriate for K-12 Theatre teachers, librarians and literacy specialists. 

PD at UCA

When: June 27 & 28

Where: UCA

Cost: $50

UCA will be providing lunches, and teachers will be able to watch their professional summer production of "You're a Good Man Charlie Brown.  Six hours each day with up to twelve hours total for both days.  We would do tech on the 27th and intimacy and the show on the 28th.  Topics covered will include intimacy training, practical and approachable technical theatre, and college preparation for both performance and production focuses.
